Kimberly van der Griend en Manouk Voorwerk zijn twee basketbalsters die al jaren actief zijn bij basketbalclub GOBA in Gorinchem. Kimberly, 32 jaar, is moeder van twee kinderen en speelt al basketbal sinds haar 12e. Manouk, 24 jaar, is niet alleen een speelster maar ook coach van een jeugdteam. Ze werkt in het ziekenhuis en heeft een achtergrond in verpleging.

Caro Apers, nu 22 jaar oud, heeft haar plek gevonden als prominente speelster bij BC Cobras. Ze begon haar sportieve carrière echter niet op het basketbalveld, maar in de turnzaal. Het was een toevallige ontmoeting tijdens een campingvakantie die haar leven een andere wending gaf. “Een van onze buren was een basketbalcoach bij Stabroek. Hij vroeg waarom ik niet op basketbal zou gaan. Zo is het begonnen bij mij.”

Leni Declercq is met haar 20 jaar een veelbelovend basketbaltalenten van België. Spelend voor ABO LDP Donza in de Top Division Women, de hoogste klasse van het Belgische vrouwenbasketbal, en met ervaring als jeugdinternational bij de Belgian Cats onder 20, is Leni een kracht om rekening mee te houden. Dit seizoen is het voor het eerst dat LDP Donza zich op het hoogste niveau van België bevindt.
